Oil Industry in Abu Dhabi, UAE - ADMA-OPCO
Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (ADMA-OPCO), is a pioneering oil and gas producer whose operations date back to the 1950s, and are centred in the offshore areas of Abu Dhabi. Oil and gas production comes from two major fields Umm Shaif and Zakum. The crude is collected from these fields using giant steel structures called supercomplexes, and then transferred to Das Island, a nearby industrial base, for processing, storing and world export. The first oil discovery in Abu Dhabi was made in 1958 in Umm Shaif and the first oil shipment exported from Abu Dhabi to the world market came out on July 4th, 1962 from the same field. Over the years, the Company adopted the latest in drilling techniques and technologies, starting with vertical, then deviated and ultimately horizontal drilling. The advancement in drilling is necessitated by the need to optimise oil and gas production.

Chinese Premier Seeks More Oil in Mid East
For more news and videos visit ☛ english.ntdtv.com Follow us on Twitter ☛ http Add us on Facebook ☛ on.fb.me As China faces a possible spike in oil prices due to economic sanctions on Iran, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao is traveling to some of the Arab world's largest oil suppliers. Between January 14 and 19th, he'll visit Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and attend the 5th "World Future Energy Summit" in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. Wen's visit to Saudi Arabia is the first visit by a Chinese leader in nearly 20 years. On Sunday, Wen pressed for the further expansion of economic ties. China already imports most of its oil from Saudi Arabia. But more than a tenth still comes from Iran. With the threat of oil supplies being cut off because of recent sanctions by the US and EU, the Chinese regime is looking to further diversify its oil imports.

Follow us on TWITTER: twitter.com Like us on FACEBOOK: www.facebook.com Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Premier Wen Jiabao will officially visit Saudi Arabia, UAE and Qatar on Jan.14 to 19. Wen will also attend the 5th "World Future Energy Summit" in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Commentators say Wen's visit to three Arab countries is to seek oil supplies, reducing oil imports from Iran. Wen Jiabao will be the first CCP leader to visit Saudi Arabia in over 20 years. Wen will be the first CCP Premier to visit to the UAE since they established diplomatic relations with the Beijing regime. China is Iran's largest crude oil export market. In 2011, 11% of China's oil imports came from Iran. Political commentator Wu Fan says the UN has ratified four sanctions against Iran, all opposed by the CCP regime. The US Congress recently decided to cut ties with central banks of all nations that have economic ties to Iran. The decision has gained worldwide support, yet China is in utter silence. US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner recently visited Beijing, trying to persuade the CCP regime on the issue. It was hoped the CCP would support the US sanctions against Iran's oil industry, to prevent nuclear proliferation. However, the Beijing regime has yet to agree. In reality, the oil transactions between China and Iran have been reduced by half. Wu Fan believes that Wen Jiabao's visit to three Arab nations is with an eye toward oil supplies. Then & Now - UAE
Then & Now - UAE
This short film compares and contrasts the UAE of today with that depicted in historical films, going back to the 1950s. Homes made from palm fronds have been replaced by skyscrapers including the tallest building in the world. Camel transport has been replaced by fast cars and state-of-the-art metro rail systems. Sailing dhows used for pearling and trade have been replaced by container ships and luxurious cruising boats. The earliest flights to the UAE on old BOAC bi-planes have given way to ultra modern airports and A380 aircraft. This film puts the country's amazing progress into perspective. The Good, the Bad and the Very, Very Ultracrepidariously Ugly
The Good! Masdar City, Abu Dhabi. Despite being home to 8 percent of the world's proven crude oil reserves, Abu Dhabi is making strides in moving away from oil and towards green energy. The Bad! Tennessee State Representative Joe Ragan and the Tennessee State Legislature. Ragan, a state representative from Tennessee, recently compared homosexuality to "pedophilia, prostitution and murder", and also said that homosexuality could be controlled by "mentally healthy adult human beings" - or by clinics run by Michele Bachmann's husband. And The Very Very Ugly! Oklahoma State Senator Ralph Shortey. File this under absolutely insane legislation. Shortey recently conducted extensive research into his state's use of human fetuses in its food.

United Arab Emirates Minister of Energy His Excellency Mohamed Bin Dhaen Al Hamli Speaks at the Gulf Intelligence UAE Energy Forum - Jan 9th 2012 in Abu Dhabi. The Gulf Intelligence UAE Energy Forum was held under the patronage of His Excellency Al Hamli, the UAE Minister of Energy for international and national energy officials to discuss the 2012 Outlook for issues & trends likely to impact the development and production of hydrocarbons as we enter the era of post easy oil. The major oil fields in the Gulf region, such as Burgan & Ghawar, have pumped more than half their oil—the point at which production traditionally begins to decline. After 50 years of easy oil which saw dominance gradually shift from international oil companies to the national oil companies, IOCs and NOCs may need to strike a new partnership balance in order to meet the demand forecasts in coming decades that will require hundreds of billions of dollars investment -- What could the win-win pillars of a new 21st century relationship?
